Kazakhstan’s airlines plan to increase international flights and open new routes by the end of this year.
Kazakhstan’s flag carrier Air Astana will start direct flights from Shymkent to Jeddah in September, operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays. The airline is also considering resuming Almaty-Kuala Lumpur flights in December with a frequency of three times per week.
Additionally, Air Astana and Japan Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement for a new route from Almaty to Tokyo, set for spring 2026. SCAT Airlines will commence Shymkent-Xian flights on November 1, and the Transport Ministry is exploring future flights to New York.(Source:astanatimes)
