Kazakhstan has advanced five positions in Transparency International’s 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), ranking 88th among 180 countries with a historic high score of 40 points. This improvement reflects the country’s continued efforts to strengthen anti-corruption measures.
Kazakhstan remains the highest-ranked country in Central Asia and the only one in the region to improve its standing. It also outperforms several major economies, including India, Indonesia, and Brazil.
The CPI, based on assessments from nine international organizations, evaluates corruption levels in the public sector on a scale from 0 to 100. Kazakhstan’s steady progress since 2016 underscores its commitment to enhancing transparency and governance reforms.
