Following President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s directive to suspend major events due to the severe floods in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry announced the cancellation of the international IT forum Digital Bridge 2024, which was scheduled for Sept. 5-7 in Astana, reported the ministry’s press service.
This year's spring floods mark the most significant natural disaster in Kazakhstan in the past 80 years. To conserve financial resources for addressing the extensive damage and providing aid to affected citizens, President Tokayev has directed the government to forego planned image-building and other major events.
Established in 2018, Digital Bridge has evolved into Central Asia's premier platform for discussing the latest trends and prospects in the IT industry. The forum, slated to convene for the sixth time this year, was also canceled in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The organizers of the event—the ministry and the Astana Hub International Technopark of IT Startups—extend their appreciation to all those interested in participating in the forum. Given favorable conditions, Digital Bridge will resume its activities in 2025.(Source:astanatimes)
