Kazakhstan Hosts 33 World Leaders in 2024

Kazakhstan welcomed 33 heads of state and government, four leaders of international organizations, and seven parliamentary speakers in 2024, according to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev undertook 24 international trips, including state and official visits and participation in international forums.

The country strengthened its diplomatic presence, now maintaining 121 foreign missions across 80 countries. Notably, Kazakhstan signed 83 international treaties and evacuated 36 citizens from disaster and conflict zones.

The ministry also made strides in boosting Kazakhstan’s passport strength, securing 15 new visa exemption agreements, raising the country's position to 51st in the 2025 Global Passport Power Rank.

Efforts to attract foreign investment resulted in $15.7 billion in investments, an 88% increase, with Kazakhstan accounting for 63% of all investments in North and Central Asia, as reported by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. The Foreign Investors' Council and the Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable facilitated contracts worth $7 billion.
