Kazakhstan and UAE Sign Over $5 Billion in Agreements During Crown Prince’s Visit

During the official visit of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Kazakhstan on May 12, more than 20 commercial agreements were signed, worth over $5 billion, as reported by Akorda.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the UAE as a key partner, emphasizing shared goals and mutual aspirations. The two countries’ bilateral ties have grown beyond trade and investment, extending to energy, transport, digital infrastructure, and education. Notably, in 2024, direct investment from the UAE to Kazakhstan more than doubled.

Among the significant agreements was a cooperation deal between Samruk Kazyna National Wealth Fund and Masdar for energy projects, including a 500 MW power supply and 2,000 MW energy storage systems. Further agreements focused on digital transformation in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry, supercomputer development, and the expansion of the merchant fleet.

Other documents included cooperation in automobile transport, justice ministries, and investments in healthcare and airport development in Kazakhstan, as well as a wind power plant project.
