Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), the national railway company, successfully dispatched its first wheat shipment to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on May 12, marking a key development in bilateral trade and logistics cooperation.
The shipment, facilitated by cargo trader IK Trading, follows a new transport route through Turkmenistan and Iran, with transshipment at Bandar Abbas Port and sea delivery to Jebel Ali Port in the UAE. The entire journey takes approximately 18 days.
This milestone strengthens Kazakhstan’s trade links with the Middle East, advancing regional logistics routes and enhancing food security.
