Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, supported the initiative of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the joint development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) during an April 12 meeting, reported the Akorda press service.
The President emphasized Kazakhstan's significant commitment to enhancing relations with Georgia, a key partner in the South Caucasus region. The strong bonds of friendship and understanding between the two countries lay a solid foundation for substantial achievements in bilateral relations.
Tokayev underscored the vital role of interparliamentary dialogue in bolstering interstate connections, highlighting the potential contributions of the Kazakhstan-Georgia interparliamentary friendship group to expanding cooperation.
Kazakh businesses are actively involved in various sectors of the Georgian economy, contributing to the enhancement of trade and economic relations between the two nations.
During the discussions, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties. Tokayev congratulated the Georgian people on their national football team's historic qualification for the final stages of the European Championship, extending his best wishes for their success.
In response, Papuashvili expressed gratitude to Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan for their warm hospitality. He noted the significance of his visit as the first official visit by the chairman of the Georgian Parliament to Kazakhstan.(Source:astanatimes)
