Kazakhstan has become the first Central Asian nation to adopt the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) National Action Plan to Reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions in Aviation, the Transport Ministry announced on Jan. 10.
The plan aims to mitigate aviation’s environmental impact through energy-efficient airport infrastructure, transitioning to sustainable aviation fuel, and legislative support for the ICAO carbon offset program.
This move aligns with Kazakhstan’s international climate commitments and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with regular monitoring planned to ensure effective implementation.
