Kazakh and Scottish universities have initiated a collaborative effort to launch a joint degree program

On March 5, Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University (RGU) announced an agreement with the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) to establish a joint degree program, as per RGU's press service.

The collaboration anticipates the commencement of studies for the inaugural student cohort at Aberdeen in the academic year 2024-25. Through this partnership, KBTU students will be seamlessly integrated into RGU's school of engineering, fostering mutual research endeavors.

Nick Fyfe, RGU's Vice Principal for Research and Community Engagement, expressed enthusiasm about the cultural and intellectual exchange opportunities arising from welcoming KBTU students. Engaged in collaborative projects alongside industry partners, these students will be well-positioned for impactful careers in specialized engineering research.

Kazakh students will also have access to RGU's engineering doctorate (EngD) program, tailored for seasoned researchers addressing the future challenges of the energy industry. This collaboration enriches RGU's academic community with diverse perspectives and enhances the educational journey for Kazakh students studying in Scotland.

KBTU Rector Maratbek Gabdullin underscored the significance of practical experience in shaping future specialists.

“Our collaboration with RGU aligns with our shared goal of providing students with practical learning opportunities. RGU’s location in Europe’s energy hub, coupled with its leadership in sustainable technologies, makes it an ideal partner for our joint PhD program. We are confident that this collaboration will yield exceptional outcomes and ignite student interest in research,” he said.(Source:astanatimes)
