Kazakh FM Attends CSTO Ministerial Council Meeting in Kyrgyzstan

Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu took part in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), held on June 30 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. The session focused on strengthening regional security and expanding cooperation among member states.

According to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service, the ministers exchanged views on the evolving international and regional landscape and its implications for the security of CSTO countries. Minister Nurtleu presented Kazakhstan’s strategic perspectives on regional cooperation and proposed several initiatives to enhance the organization’s development.

The meeting also addressed broader institutional collaboration, including CSTO partnerships with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

Following the session, CSTO foreign ministers adopted a series of joint statements on combating radicalization leading to terrorism and extremism, promoting international information security, assessing the situation in the Middle East, and supporting the work of the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan, based in Almaty.
