Astana Hub showcases thriving startups led by women

The Astana Hub International Technopark of IT Startups has observed a notable increase in projects spearheaded by female entrepreneurs. According to the hub’s press service report on March 7, nearly 250 companies led by women are registered, with 25% of them having successfully extended their services overseas.

At the Web Summit Qatar 2024, ZebraEye, founded by Yana Ten, emerged as a standout startup, drawing attention as Kazakhstan’s pioneer presenter at the summit. Ten showcased a groundbreaking artificial intelligence (AI) software capable of diagnosing rare eye diseases with an impressive 95% accuracy within just a minute.

ZebraEye has captured the interest of foreign investors, particularly in the Middle East, including major venture fund Doha Venture Capital, managing a substantial $1 billion, and Qatar Science and Technology Park.

Another notable venture is SmarTestPrep (STP) by Laura Vaygorova, which harnesses AI to deliver personalized preparation services along with an extensive database of educational programs and scholarships.

STP has facilitated over 4,500 invitations from universities and scholarship opportunities for students across 22 countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

In 2022, STP secured a spot in the esteemed ASU GSV Elite 200 list, recognizing the fastest-growing early-stage EdTech startups globally. The company was valued at $10 million and successfully attracted over $230,000 in investments.(Source:astanatimes)
