Aktau extends a warm welcome to its third wave of tourists from Iran

According to the press service of the Akimat of Aktau (governor’s office), Aktau has greeted 14,000 foreign tourists since the start of the year, as reported on March 28.

As the Nauryz holidays commenced, Aktau greeted a third wave of Iranian tourists. A total of 112 passengers from Tehran arrived via charter, receiving a warm welcome with traditional music and cuisine. Over the course of 10 days, these travelers will explore various sights and attractions in the region.

Iranian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Ali Akbar Jokar, highlighted that the visa-free regime agreement signed in 2022, allowing for a 14-day visa-free stay, has significantly boosted tourism between Kazakhstan and Iran, resulting in an increased influx of tourists in both directions.

“We have direct flights from Almaty to Tehran and from Aktau to Gorgan and Sari in Iran. Also, in the warmer months, from March to September, there are additional charter flights to increase tourist inflow,” said Jokar.(Source:astanatimes)
