In the period from January to November, KazTransOil, the national oil transporter under KazMunayGas (KMG), shipped 3.62 million tons of Kazakh oil from the Aktau seaport, marking a significant 50% increase compared to the previous year.
As per the company’s statement, the growth was attributed to a rise in the volume of raw materials transported to the Baku port, escalating from 205,000 tons to 1.238 million tons, marking a six-fold increase compared to the same period in 2022. During this period, 1.824 million tons of oil were shipped from the Aktau port to the Makhachkala port.
In line with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's directives to enhance oil transportation along the Trans-Caspian corridor, KazMunayGas, the national oil and gas company of Kazakhstan, partnered with Azerbaijan’s SOCAR. They signed a five-year agreement last year to transport 1.5 million tons of oil via the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (Turkey) pipeline.
