Kazakhstan, World Bank Implement 48 Projects Worth $8 Billion

During a meeting with World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Tatiana Proskuryakova, Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov stated that over more than 30 years of collaboration, Kazakhstan and the World Bank have successfully implemented 48 projects with a combined value exceeding $8 billion.

Six projects are currently in the implementation stage, reflecting the ongoing collaboration between Kazakhstan and the World Bank. The focus of this cooperation is to support Kazakhstan's reforms for inclusive and sustainable development, with one notable initiative being the Joint Economic Research Program, which has been operational for over two decades. Prime Minister Smailov emphasized Kazakhstan's commitment to further enhancing cooperation with the World Bank.

Tatiana Proskuryakova mentioned that the World Bank has increased the preparation of new projects, with a particular focus on initiatives like connecting remote villages to the internet as part of the government's program. She expressed optimism that Kazakhstan's role as a regional leader would be strengthened, and this would serve as a positive example for other countries in Central Asia. (Source:astanatimes)
