Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu held a meeting with European Union Ambassador Aleška Simkić to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, digitalization, and visa facilitation, as reported by the Foreign Ministry.
Nurtleu reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with the EU, underscoring the importance of implementing agreements in trade, investment, transport, logistics, critical raw materials, and digital technologies. Simkić expressed her support for advancing mutual relations.
The EU remains Kazakhstan's leading trade and investment partner, with a trade turnover of $44.2 billion in January-November 2024, reflecting a 17.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023. European investments in Kazakhstan have amounted to $180 billion since 2005.
