Kazakhstan aims for $3.7 billion in output from 180 new projects in 2024
Kazakhstan plans to initiate 180 projects by the end of 2024, with investments totaling about 1.4 trillion tenge (US$2.9 billion) and creating approximately 17,400 new jobs, the Prime Minister’s press service reported on July 24. Once fully operational, the key projects will generate goods worth nearly 1.8 trillion tenge (US$3.7 billion), including 400 billion tenge (US$843 million) for export and 1.4 trillion tenge (US$2.9 billion) for import substitution.
For 2024, Kazakhstan is launching 180 new projects aimed at generating $3.7 billion in output. Notable projects include:
- EkibastuzFerroAlloys: A ferroalloy plant in Pavlodar Region with a 92.4 billion tenge (US$194 million) investment, creating 800 jobs, and an annual production capacity of 240,000 tons of ferrosilicon.
- Kostanay Region Facility: Producing cast iron parts for trucks, investing 78.2 billion tenge (US$164 million), creating 360 jobs, and achieving an annual output of 45,000 tons.
- Zhetysu Wolfram: Developing the Boguty tungsten ore deposit in Almaty Region with a 135 billion tenge (US$284 million) investment, generating 350 jobs, and producing 3.3 million tons of ore and 10,000 tons of concentrate each year.
- Almaty Region Insulation Plant: Investing 43.9 billion tenge (US$92.6 million) to produce 1.4 million cubic meters of rock wool and 400,000 cubic meters of polymer insulation, creating 220 jobs.
- Spring Production Facility: Also in Almaty Region, investing 1.1 billion tenge (US$2.3 million) to produce 298,500 springs annually, generating 51 jobs.(Source:astanatimes)
