The Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry, in partnership with Google, rolled out Street View in Kazakhstan on March 27, as per the ministry's press release.
Minister Bagdat Mussin highlighted the significance of this milestone, stating that the launch of Google Street View in Kazakhstan will greatly improve navigation, promote tourism, and offer virtual tours of the country's scenic landscapes and cities.
Kazaerospace, a Kazakh company, played a key role in the technical aspects of the project, collaborating with Google to conduct terrain mapping, road tracking, and 360-degree photography. Their partnership marks a significant achievement for Kazakhstan.
The project covered over 42,000 kilometers of diverse terrain, including major cities like Semei, Kokshetau, Aktobe, Almaty, and Konayev. Using specialized trackers mounted on pickup trucks, Street View captured Kazakhstan's stunning landscapes and urban centers.
The introduction of Google Street View is expected to enhance Google Maps, providing new opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses in the country.
From majestic mountains to the shores of the Caspian Sea and the modern architecture of Astana, Street View offers users an immersive experience, allowing them to explore Kazakhstan's rich cultural heritage and dynamic urban life from anywhere in the world.(Source:astanatimes)
