The National Bank of Kazakhstan revealed the new design of 10,000 tenge (US$22) banknotes that will enter circulation starting from June 28, reported the National Bank’s press service.
The banknotes will enter mass circulation in September, as additional time is required for delivery to all regions of the country and adaptation of equipment such as automated teller machines (ATMs), terminals and other cash equipment.
The new 10,000 tenge banknote from the National Bank of Kazakhstan features a design inspired by the Saka style, honoring the Saka tribes of the first millennium BC. The front showcases a snow leopard on a mountaintop, symbolizing fearlessness, power, and beauty, alongside the "Tree of Life" branch, a soaring bird, a DNA spiral, and an infinity symbol.
The reverse side includes another leopard, a circular Kazakh ornament representing a shield and the solar sign symbolizing life and energy, and a leopard head artifact found in Berel burial mounds. This is the second banknote in the new Saka-style series, following the redesign of the 5,000 tenge note earlier this year.(Source:astanatimes)
