OPEC+ Keeps October Oil Output Quotas Unchanged
OPEC+ has decided to keep oil production targets for October unchanged as the alliance pauses further adjustments and shifts its focus toward assessing market conditions and reviewing production baselines for 2027.
The decision was made on Sept. 6 during a virtual meeting involving Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman. The seven countries had previously announced additional voluntary production adjustments in 2023.
Under the agreement, the countries will maintain their September 2026 required production levels in October. Kazakhstan’s production quota will remain at 1.628 million barrels per day (bpd).
Russia’s October quota will stand at 9.949 million bpd, while Saudi Arabia will have a quota of 10.478 million bpd. Iraq’s production target will be 4.431 million bpd, followed by Kuwait at 2.676 million bpd, Algeria at 1.007 million bpd and Oman at 841,000 bpd.
The next OPEC+ meeting is scheduled for Oct. 4, when the participating countries are expected to review market conditions and production levels.
