Kazakhstan has launched a new program aimed at expanding support for women entrepreneurs

DAMU Entrepreneurship Development Fund has allocated 10 billion tenge (US$22.4 million) for a new program to finance women’s entrepreneurship, the fund’s press service reported on March 6.

The Umit (Hope) program aims to provide women entrepreneurs across all regions of Kazakhstan, including rural areas and small towns, with opportunities for business development. Through this program, entrepreneurs can access financing from second-tier banks, with loan terms of up to 84 months and preferential interest rates for investment and working capital purposes, with loan amounts of up to 100 million tenge (US$223,822).

Support under the program will be extended to various sectors of the economy, excluding financial and insurance activities, real estate transactions, and wholesale and retail trade.
