Kazakhstan and Vietnam Explore Cooperation Prospects

Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin discussed the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and Kazakhstan's significant lithium deposits during a meeting with Vietnam's Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien on May 15, as reported by the Prime Minister’s press service.

Zhumangarin urged Vietnamese companies to consider leveraging the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which could expedite Vietnamese exports from east to west by three to four times compared to sea routes, leading to substantial cost savings.

“We consider TITR the most optimal route between Asia and Europe. We also propose to use the capacity of the Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the seaport of Lianyungang and the dry port in Xian,” he emphasized.(Source:astanatimes)

Zhumangarin highlighted Vietnam as one of Kazakhstan's key partners in Asia. Trade turnover surged by 85.4% in 2023, nearly reaching $1 billion. Currently, there are 13 weekly flights connecting the two countries.
