David Cameron, the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs, is set to visit Kazakhstan on April 24-25 as part of a Central Asian tour, as reported by the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service.
Cameron commenced his Central Asian tour in Tajikistan on April 22. As part of the U.K. government’s commitment to enhancing engagement with the region, he will also visit Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as outlined in a statement on the U.K. government website.
During his trip, Cameron will engage with regional leaders to strengthen cooperation on common challenges, ranging from counter-terrorism to climate change. Discussions will encompass topics such as sanctions evasion, human rights, and reform.
In Astana, Cameron is scheduled to meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu to explore bilateral collaboration across political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, alongside discussing current regional and international affairs. The discussions are anticipated to culminate in the signing of multiple bilateral agreements.
