Sales volume in the e-commerce market in 2023 reached 2.4 trillion tenge ($5.3 billion) according to a study by Strategy&, a subsidiary of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
In comparison to 2022, e-commerce activity surged by 79% in 2023, with contributions from the Digital Kazakhstan Association and second-tier banks such as Kaspi. E-commerce now makes up 12.6% of total retail sales, with 90.2 million transactions recorded, and the average transaction amount decreased to 26,800 tenge (US$61).
