President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met on Oct. 29 with U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor and First Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau to discuss ways to deepen Kazakhstan–U.S. cooperation ahead of the upcoming C5+1 Leaders’ Summit in Washington, reported the Akorda press service.
Talks focused on enhancing the expanded strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in trade, investment, and regional security. Both sides also exchanged views on international stability and regional development.
President Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s support for U.S. initiatives promoting global peace, emphasizing constructive dialogue and cooperation among regional partners to tackle shared challenges. He also noted Central Asia’s growing unity and role in global affairs.
Representing the U.S. administration, Sergio Gor highlighted the strategic importance of Central Asia in U.S. foreign policy and expressed readiness to expand collaboration through the C5+1 platform and other multilateral formats.
The parties agreed to maintain close coordination between foreign ministries and advance cooperation in the areas of economic growth and regional security.
