Kazakhstan Sees 38% Increase in Tourism Investment Amid Rising Visitor Numbers

Investment in Kazakhstan’s tourism sector rose by 38.1% to 923 billion tenge (approximately US$2 billion) in January–October 2025, reflecting steady growth in both domestic and inbound travel, Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabossynov reported.

Between January and September, Kazakhstan welcomed 12.1 million foreign visitors, including 8.6 million classified as tourists staying more than one day. Accommodation facilities hosted 1 million foreign guests and 6.7 million domestic tourists, demonstrating sustained demand across the sector, according to the Prime Minister’s press service.

Kazakhstan currently has 4,499 accommodation facilities with a combined capacity exceeding 243,500 beds. Revenue from hotels and other lodging establishments reached 268 billion tenge (US$580 million), underscoring rising tourism activity nationwide.

Authorities are implementing 147 tourism infrastructure projects across 20 regions, including the completion of an inventory of eight key resort zones and the drafting of a 2025–2028 Roadmap for Resort Zone Development. Development plans for the Shchuchinsk-Borovoye and Mangystau tourist zones aim to modernize infrastructure, enhance safety, improve logistics, and expand tourism services through 2029.

Minister Myrzabossynov highlighted that both private and institutional investors continue to show strong interest in Kazakhstan’s tourism sector, supporting its long-term growth and regional development.
