Kazakhstan is expanding digital transformation initiatives to promote education, creativity, and social inclusion — with a special focus on supporting the reintegration of formerly incarcerated youth.
On Oct. 30, a training seminar titled “Ideas Come Alive Through Artificial Intelligence” introduced participants to creative and practical applications of AI tools for personal development and social adaptation.
The event, held under the ReStart project, brought together young people who had previously served criminal sentences, along with their families, educators, psychologists, and volunteers, reported the Public Information Fund press service.
Participants explored how artificial intelligence can support self-expression, job readiness, and digital creativity through tools such as ChatGPT and Canva, creating resumes, posters, and social media content.
Implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information, the ReStart project operates in Astana, as well as the Karagandy and Akmola regions, from March 2025 to November 2026. Its goal is to facilitate the rehabilitation and social reintegration of youth aged 14 to 35 who have completed prison sentences.
By combining digital skills training with psychological and social support, ReStart helps participants rebuild confidence, acquire employable skills, and successfully reintegrate into society.
