Kazakhstan to Host Branch of India’s National Forensic Sciences University

Kazakhstan and India signed an agreement on Oct. 29 in Astana to open a branch of India’s National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), advancing cooperation in forensic science, cybersecurity, and criminal investigation, reported the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The agreement followed a trilateral meeting at the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, attended by Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Aidar Saitbekov, and NFSU Executive Registrar Shree Jadeja.

The new branch will operate within the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, offering dual-degree programs jointly with NFSU’s main campus in Gandhinagar, India.

The initiative aims to train specialists for Kazakhstan’s law enforcement and judicial systems in digital forensics, applied criminology, and IT security, while promoting joint scientific research and academic exchange.

Plans also include establishing modern laboratories, professional training programs, and expert exchange platforms to enhance regional capacity in cybercrime prevention and digital forensics.
