Kazakhstan exported 9.3 million tons of new crop grain from September 2024 through July 10, 2025, marking a 58.4% increase compared to the same period in the 2023–2024 agricultural year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, citing data from Kazakhstan Temir Zholy national railway company.
The largest growth was recorded in exports to key Central Asian and neighboring markets. Shipments to Uzbekistan rose by 32.8% to 3.4 million tons, to Tajikistan by 45.8% reaching 1.3 million tons, and to Afghanistan by 49.2% totaling 309,000 tons. Exports to the Kyrgyz Republic nearly doubled, increasing by 96% to 238,000 tons.
Notably, grain exports to Iran grew 17.5 times to 974,000 tons, while shipments to Azerbaijan increased 118.8 times, reaching 713,000 tons.
The Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that this sharp rise reflects growing demand for Kazakh grain in international markets and signals the effectiveness of state measures aimed at expanding export geography and modernizing the country's logistics infrastructure.
The ministry also noted that work is ongoing to improve grain transportation efficiency through enhanced cooperation with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and by introducing new transport and storage solutions to support further export growth.
