Kazakhstan has risen to 44th place in the World Bank’s Statistical Performance Indicators (SPI) for 2024, improving by 21 positions compared with the previous year. The SPI overall score now covers 188 economies, according to the World Bank press service.
The SPI, published annually, evaluates national statistical systems using internationally recognized data sources, providing a comprehensive overview of global development trends at the national, regional, and international levels. The index assesses countries across five key pillars: data use, data services, statistical products, data sources, and data infrastructure, with scores ranging from 0 to 100. Higher scores reflect stronger statistical capacity.
Kazakhstan achieved an overall score of 84.89. The improvement is attributed to enhanced performance in several critical areas, including Data Use (+10), Data Sources (+10.2), Data Infrastructure (+10), and Data Services (+1.1).
Norway, Sweden, and Canada retained the top positions in the SPI 2024 ranking.
