CPC Shareholders Commit to Repairing Oil Station After Drone Strike

Shareholders of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) have pledged support for repairing the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station, damaged in a drone attack on Feb. 17. Restoration work is expected to take around two months.

During a meeting in Abu Dhabi on Feb. 25-26, CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban briefed shareholders on the extent of the damage, the condition of the equipment, and the progress of dismantling and contractor mobilization efforts. He also provided an update on the company’s business performance and its Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) record.

Despite the incident, CPC reported strong safety performance in 2024. Employees and contractors logged nearly 15 million man-hours without injuries, and company vehicles covered over 33 million kilometers without accidents. Additionally, no failures were recorded in the mechanical or process equipment.

The CPC, which transports oil from Kazakhstan to global markets, plays a crucial role in regional energy security. The timely restoration of the Kropotkinskaya station is seen as essential to maintaining stable supply chains.
