CPC Restores Kropotkinskaya Station Ahead of May Relaunch

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has completed full-scale restoration and installation works at the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station, preparing it for recommissioning following a planned shutdown scheduled for May 20, according to CPC General Director Nikolay Gorban.

The scope of work included the complete restoration and testing of key infrastructure components, such as transformers, a gas turbine unit, and a generator. All systems are now fully operational.

The Kropotkinskaya station, the largest facility in the CPC network, suffered substantial damage as a result of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack on February 17. While there were no casualties, critical oil transport infrastructure was affected.

The CPC pipeline system, stretching 1,511 kilometers from the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan to the Russian port of Novorossiysk, serves as a major export route. It facilitates the transit of more than two-thirds of Kazakhstan’s crude oil exports, as well as volumes from Russian fields, including those in the Caspian region.
