The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) plans to reach a milestone of 1 billion tons of oil shipments by October 2025, following upgrades under the CPC Oil Pipeline Bottleneck Elimination Project (CPC BOEP).
During a May 26 meeting, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and CPC Director General Nikolay Gorban discussed recent progress, including the modernization of the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline and expansion of pumping capacities.
CPC recently completed restoration and commissioning work at the Kropotkinskaya station, and in 2024, added a new connection with KazTransOil’s Kasymov station. As a result, annual pumping capacity rose from 67 to 81.5 million tons, with Kazakhstan’s share increasing from 53.7 to 72.5 million tons.
Bektenov stressed the CPC’s critical role in Kazakhstan’s oil exports and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring pipeline reliability.
CPC also continues its social investment, including a 900-student school in Atyrau. In 2023, the consortium allocated 4.4 billion tenge (\$8.6 million) for educational and healthcare projects.
In the first four months of 2025, CPC shipped 23.9 million tons of oil, 21.5 million tons of which came from Kazakhstan. The 1,511 km CPC pipeline remains a key route for Kazakh oil to global markets.
