Air Astana has announced a significant expansion of its route network for autumn 2025, restoring connections to Saudi Arabia and boosting flights to popular tourist destinations across the Middle East and Asia, the company’s press service reported on Oct. 2.
In September, the airline resumed flights from Almaty to Jeddah (twice weekly) and from Shymkent to Jeddah (once weekly). Starting in late October, flights from Almaty to Medina will operate twice weekly, while Shymkent–Medina services will run once weekly. Passengers from Astana will also gain alternating biweekly flights to Jeddah and Medina, while Aktau will be linked with both Saudi cities on the same alternating schedule. The expanded routes are designed to make religious pilgrimages more accessible, while also supporting business and leisure travel. Air Astana reminded passengers that entry to Saudi Arabia requires a visa, available online through the official Saudi eVisa portal.
Air Astana is also ramping up flights to popular visa-free holiday destinations. From late October, services from Almaty to Malé, Maldives, will operate three times weekly, increasing to five during peak travel periods such as New Year and Nauryz. The Almaty–Phu Quoc (Vietnam) route will run five times weekly, with daily flights available in December, while Astana–Phu Quoc services will operate three times weekly.
Flights to Dubai will see a sharp increase: Almaty–Dubai frequencies will rise from seven to 12 weekly flights, and Astana–Dubai services from seven to 10. Southeast Asia routes will also expand, with Almaty–Bangkok and Almaty–Phuket flights both growing from four to seven weekly departures.
All new and resumed flights will be operated using Airbus A320neo and A321LR aircraft.
