A transcontinental corridor is shaping Europe's energy future

Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan inked a landmark deal at the Tashkent International Investment Forum, paving the way for a transcontinental energy corridor to Europe. This move positions them as key players in the global clean energy market and boosts their role in Europe's energy scene.

Ilgar Velizade, head of the South Caucasus, Azerbaijani Political Scientists’ Club, highlighted that the recent agreement comes after months of negotiations and discussions. Starting from late 2022, the parties have been in talks regarding green energy collaboration and the transportation of energy from the Caspian and Central Asian regions to Europe.

“Discussions are also underway regarding the laying of a cable to transport green energy from the Caucasus towards Romania and the Eastern Balkans across the bottom of the Black Sea,” said Velizade.(Source:astanatimes)
