Tokayev, Italian PM Meloni Highlight Strategic Partnership at AIF
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on May 29 during the Astana International Forum. Tokayev called Italy a key trade partner and praised the business forum held with Italian entrepreneurs.
Meloni emphasized Kazakhstan’s importance to Italy and the EU, commending the first Italy–Central Asia summit initiative. She called the summit potentially historic and stressed the need to strengthen cooperation amid global challenges.
“The Central Asian region has now acquired strategic importance,” she said.
