SCAT Airlines to Launch Direct Flights Between Kazakhstan and Latvia in 2026

SCAT Airlines will introduce a direct passenger route between Kazakhstan and Latvia in spring 2026, the airline announced at the Kazakhstan-Latvia business forum in Almaty on Oct. 2. The new connection aims to simplify travel, strengthen business and cultural ties, and boost tourism, investment, and joint projects between the two countries.

Kazakhstan highlighted Latvia as a reliable partner, while Latvian representatives noted Kazakhstan’s strategic role as a bridge between Asia and Europe, according to the Ministry of Transport’s press service.

Forum participants also recognized the importance of cargo transit via Latvian ports—Riga, Ventspils, and Liepaja—as a key link in the logistics chain connecting Central Asia to European markets. In addition to air travel, both sides emphasized the growing potential for railway cooperation, reflected in the steady increase in cargo volumes.
