President Tokayev to Pay Official Visit to China
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will undertake an official visit to China from Aug. 30 to Sept. 3 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, the Akorda press service reported on Aug. 26.
The visit will feature high-level talks aimed at advancing the comprehensive and eternal strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.
On Aug. 31–Sept. 1, President Tokayev will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and the expanded SCO+ session in Tianjin, where discussions will focus on regional security, economic integration, and multilateral cooperation.
On Sept. 2, the Head of State will address the Kazakhstan-China Business Council in Beijing and hold meetings with senior executives of major Chinese corporations to discuss trade and investment opportunities.
On Sept. 3, President Tokayev will attend the commemorative events in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II as an honored guest.
