The redesigned flag, unveiled at the 11th summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Bishkek, emphasizes the cultural and historical bonds within the Turkic world. Featuring traditional colors and patterns, it highlights the shared roots of Turkic peoples.
The flag's blue and white colors symbolize purity, tradition, and the vast steppe, evoking strength, harmony, and eternity. The octagon, representing guidance and wisdom, and the sun with forty rays, embody light, openness, and vitality, reflecting shared values and a collective vision for the future. The crescent moon and star, symbols of Turkic statehood, signify growth, aspiration, and progress, reinforcing a sense of kinship and cultural unity.
Leaders at the summit expressed hope that the new flag would foster mutual understanding and support a united vision for peace and stability across Turkic states.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in marking the 15th anniversary of the OTS, called for deeper cooperation in the economic, cultural, and digital sectors across the Turkic world.
