KMG Surpasses 2024 Oil Transport Target by 8%

Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company KazMunayGas (KMG) transported 83.5 million tons of oil in 2024, exceeding the planned target by 8%, or six million tons, and surpassing 2023 volumes by 4%, according to a June 20 report from the KMG press service.

Of the total volume transported, 55.7 million tons were delivered via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).

In the first five months of 2025, KMG transported 34.7 million tons, which is 2%, or 825,000 tons, above the planned figure.

KMG continues to develop additional export routes. In 2024, oil exports to Germany increased by 50%, and the company aims to supply up to two million tons there in 2025.

Transit volumes of Kazakh oil via the Aktau-Baku-Ceyhan route have also risen under the agreement with SOCAR, increasing by 27% to 1.4 million tons in 2024. This figure is expected to grow to 1.7 million tons in 2025.

A strategic project to expand the Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline is underway, with technical assignment approval for the feasibility study with the Chinese side expected to be finalized this year.
