KazMunayGas CEO Highlights Green Shift at Baku Energy Forum
KazMunayGas CEO Askhat Khassenov outlined the company’s strategic focus during Baku Energy Week (June 2–4), emphasizing energy security and sustainability.
Speaking at the “Dialogue of Leaders” panel, Khassenov reaffirmed KMG’s dual commitment to traditional hydrocarbon development and low-carbon innovation. Key priorities include enhancing efficiency, expanding petrochemicals, and deepening exploration through international partnerships.
KMG is advancing renewable energy with major projects like a 247 MW hybrid plant in Mangystau and a 1 GW wind plant in Zhambyl. The company also invests in hydrogen, launching Kazakhstan’s first hydrogen technology center and a green hydrogen pilot lab in Atyrau.
