Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has confirmed that the country’s oil exports remain unaffected after a drone attack damaged the Sheskharis oil transshipment complex at Russia’s Novorossiysk port. The ministry noted it is in ongoing communication with the Russian pipeline operator to monitor developments.
The Sheskharis terminal is a key logistics hub, handling over 6 million tons of Kazakh crude annually. Kazakhstan supplies oil to global markets through two major routes: the Atyrau–Samara–Novorossiysk pipeline, which provides direct transit, and the Makhachkala–Novorossiysk route, where crude is transported to Makhachkala by tanker and rail before reaching the Black Sea port.
According to the Krasnodar region’s operational headquarters, the facility was damaged during the drone attack, but the resulting fire was promptly extinguished.
