Kazakhstan’s National Bank Launches ÚKI Investment Coin Under Gold Coin Project

The National Bank of Kazakhstan has announced the launch of the Gold Coin project, introducing a digital equivalent of the investment coin, effective March 17.

According to the bank’s press release on March 13, the new investment product will be available for purchase through the Astana International Exchange (AIX)’s Tabys mobile app. The initiative aims to provide Kazakhstan’s citizens with an alternative means of investment and capital preservation, leveraging digital technologies and modern financial tools.

Each Gold Coin represents 1/20 of a troy ounce of gold, with its value determined by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) gold price and the official tenge-to-U.S. dollar exchange rate from the day before the transaction. Users can buy, sell, and gift Gold Coins via the Tabys app, offering a flexible and convenient digital investment option.

Additionally, once a user accumulates twenty Gold Coins, they will have the option to exchange them for a physical investment coin, ÚKI, at any branch of the National Bank. This dual approach provides investors with both digital convenience and tangible asset security.
