Kazakhstan’s National Bank Introduces Zinc Collectible Coin

The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) has announced the release of a new collectible coin titled Zn (Zinc) as part of its Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan series. The coin has been available for purchase through the NBK’s official online store since Jan. 20.

The coin is minted in black proof quality and produced from 925 sterling silver with a zinc insert. It has a face value of 1,000 tenge, weighs 32.5 grams, and measures 38.61 millimeters in diameter. The total mintage is limited to 2,000 pieces.

According to the National Bank, the collectible is intended for numismatists and collectors and is designed to highlight Kazakhstan’s rich mineral resource base.

In 2025, the National Bank also issued commemorative coins marking the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Constitution, with denominations of 1,000 and 100 tenge.

In addition, the NBK launched the Gold Coin project, a digital investment coin available via the Astana International Exchange’s Tabys mobile application. The initiative aims to provide citizens with an alternative investment instrument through the use of digital technologies.
