Kazakhstan’s IT Services Market Reaches Record $5.6 Billion

Kazakhstan’s IT services market reached a record 2.9 trillion tenge (US$5.6 billion) in 2025, according to the Bureau of National Statistics, reflecting continued expansion of the country’s digital economy and growing demand for technology services.

The market grew by 70% compared to 2024 and has expanded 4.6 times since official statistics on the sector were first published in 2021.

Domestic demand remained the primary driver of growth, accounting for 86.7% of the total market. Kazakh IT companies provided more than 2.5 trillion tenge (US$4.8 billion) in services to domestic clients, an increase of 76.7% year-on-year. Growth was recorded across both corporate and consumer segments, with services to businesses rising 49.5% and demand from individual customers increasing more than sixfold.

International demand also strengthened. Exports of IT services reached 391.6 billion tenge (US$753 million), up 28.9% from the previous year, accounting for 13.3% of the overall market.

Almaty and Astana remained Kazakhstan’s leading technology hubs, jointly generating 92.2% of the country’s IT services output. Companies based in Almaty produced 1.8 trillion tenge (US$3.5 billion) in IT services, nearly doubling their performance from 2024, while Astana recorded 883.8 billion tenge (US$1.7 billion), representing annual growth of 45.4%.

Regional expansion extended beyond the country’s two largest cities, with IT services increasing in 16 of Kazakhstan’s 20 regions. The strongest growth was recorded in the Ulytau and Turkistan regions, where market volumes expanded 2.8 times and 2.6 times, respectively, while the Mangystau Region posted growth of 67.5%.
