Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu participated in the inaugural meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between foreign ministers from Kazakhstan and China. The memorandum corresponding to this dialogue was signed during his official visit to Beijing on March 29, as reported by the Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service.
During discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, both parties conducted a comprehensive review of political, trade, economic, investment, and cultural cooperation, while also assessing the progress of agreements established at the highest levels.
Special emphasis was placed on advancing joint economic, transport, and logistics projects, particularly within the Belt and Road Initiative. Notably, bilateral trade saw a remarkable increase of over 30% to $41 billion last year.
Both sides praised the significant enhancement of interregional cooperation, leading to the introduction of a mutual visa-free regime in November of the previous year.
In discussions with Deputy Premier of the Chinese State Council, Ding Xuexiang, Nurtleu stressed the importance of innovative approaches to advancing industrial, investment, and energy cooperation. This includes a focus on boosting Kazakhstan’s non-primary exports to China.
Chinese business leaders expressed considerable interest in collaborating on promising joint ventures. During discussions with the Shandong Hi-Speed Group, a Chinese state public investment company, plans for constructing a dual commercial and industrial park were explored.
In meetings with representatives from the Chinese Meat Association, Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister discussed the potential for exporting livestock products from Kazakhstan, leveraging the expertise of China's largest association for meat production and distribution.(Source:astanatimes)
