Kazakhstan’s Economy Grows 6.4% in First Ten Months of 2025

Kazakhstan’s GDP expanded by 6.4% from January to October 2025 compared to the same period last year, driven by industry, trade, and transportation, according to preliminary data from the Bureau of National Statistics.

The industrial sector grew 7.3%, contributing over 30% of total GDP growth, while combined with trade and transport it accounted for more than 70% of overall growth.

Goods production rose 8.2%, and the services sector expanded by 5.3%. Sector highlights:

  • Manufacturing: +5.8%, with mechanical engineering up 11.5%
  • Chemical industry: +10.9%
  • Food production: +9.1%
  • Oil refining: +6.3%
  • Metal products: +14.1%
  • Construction materials: +5.3%
  • Construction: +15.1%, supported by major infrastructure projects and investments in residential and industrial facilities

Agriculture:

  • Overall output: +5.4%
  • Crop production: +6.7% (notable increases in Akmola +13.6%, Kostanai +14.9%, Pavlodar +7.4%)
  • Livestock: +3.4% (milk +5.2%, meat +2.8%, eggs +1.4%)

Trade:

  • Total turnover: +9%, led by wholesale enterprises
  • Strongest regional growth: Pavlodar, Atyrau, and Astana

Transport:

  • Service volumes increased 20.7%, supported by higher freight activity across all modes of transport
