Kazakhstan is advancing efforts to establish direct flights to the United States with a focus on strengthening aviation security. From Dec. 3-5, U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) representatives, led by regional attaché Chris Hadinger, visited Kazakhstan to assess security measures and provide expertise, supported by the U.S. Embassy's Export Control and Border Security (EXBS) program.
Meetings with Kazakhstan's Civil Aviation Committee and the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan (AAK) emphasized security collaboration and compliance with international safety standards. The TSA delegation inspected Astana Airport's perimeter, access control systems, and protocols for cargo, mail, and onboard services.
Direct flights are expected to enhance economic, cultural, and tourism links between Kazakhstan and the U.S., making the country more accessible and attractive globally. Efforts will continue to meet all international safety requirements, ensuring quality and secure passenger services.
