President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reaffirmed the strong strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Hungary during a meeting on Feb. 17 with Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, who was on an official visit to Astana.
Tokayev expressed satisfaction with the progress made on the agreements signed during his state visit to Budapest last year, emphasizing that further implementation of these agreements will deepen bilateral cooperation.
Szijjártó highlighted that his visit included discussions with Kazakh ministries aimed at advancing the practical application of previously made agreements. The officials focused on strengthening trade, economic, investment, energy, and banking ties.
Tokayev awarded Szijjártó the Dostyk (Friendship) Order of the II degree in recognition of his contributions to Kazakh-Hungarian relations.
