The Kazakh National Association of Oilseed Processors (NAOPK) and Uzbekistan’s Fayz Oil Imports signed a memorandum of cooperation to expand regional trade in oil and fat products, the Ministry of Agriculture reported.
Under the agreement, Fayz Oil Imports will purchase $60 million worth of Kazakh oil and fat products over the next year.
Uzbekistan remains one of Kazakhstan’s top five importers, with bilateral trade in vegetable oils and high-protein feed reaching $349 million in the 2024–2025 season—an 82% increase from the previous year.
Kazakhstan has consolidated its position as Central Asia’s primary supplier of vegetable oils, covering 65% of Uzbekistan’s and 74% of Tajikistan’s market demand. Officials noted that Kazakhstan is now capable of fully meeting regional sunflower oil needs.
