Kazakhstan is intensifying its investment and trade cooperation with Kuwait, as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu invited Kuwaiti investors to participate in large-scale projects across the country. Nurtleu extended the invitation during the third ministerial meeting of the Central Asia – Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on April 15, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a meeting with Waleed Al-Bahar, Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), discussions focused on expanding collaboration in sustainable development and financing infrastructure and socially significant projects. Particular attention was given to potential KFAED involvement in initiatives related to energy, water supply, and agriculture.
During talks with Imad Al-Zaid, Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, both sides explored ways to enhance bilateral trade, stimulate business activity, and establish more favorable conditions for cooperation between Kazakh and Kuwaiti businesses. Priority sectors identified included the agro-industrial complex, raw materials processing, and transport and logistics.
The Kuwaiti side expressed interest in organizing reciprocal business delegation visits to explore investment prospects. Al-Bahar also confirmed his participation in the upcoming Astana International Forum, scheduled for May 29–30.
